Terms & Conditions
The main terms that apply when Jonesy Thyme Gardening Services carries out work for you.
Last updated: September 2026. These website terms are a clear summary for customers. Any specific terms shown on an accepted estimate or quotation also form part of the agreement.
1. Scope of work
Jonesy Thyme Gardening Services (JTGS) will carry out the work set out in the accepted estimate with reasonable skill and care. Clients must tell us about boundaries, underground services and other hazards before work starts.
2. Estimates and changes
Estimates are normally valid for 30 days. Work, labour or materials outside the agreed estimate may be charged separately. Where possible, we will discuss additional costs before carrying out extra work.
3. Payment
The client is responsible for the agreed price and any authorised extras. One-off work is payable on completion unless agreed otherwise. Regular maintenance and project payment arrangements will be as stated on the invoice or estimate. Overdue accounts may result in services being suspended and statutory or contractual interest being charged where applicable.
4. Cancellation and access
Please give at least 48 hours’ notice to cancel or move a booking. Late cancellations, inability to gain access or cancellation after arrival may be charged up to the scheduled labour cost. Safe and reasonable access must be provided.
5. Site requirements
The client should provide access to water and electricity where reasonably needed and is responsible for required parking permissions or charges.
6. Plants and materials
We use reputable suppliers, but plant survival depends on conditions and aftercare outside our control. Unless agreed otherwise, the client is responsible for watering and ongoing care after planting.
7. Equipment and delivered materials
JTGS tools and equipment remain our property. Risk for materials delivered to the client’s property passes to the client while they are stored on site, subject to applicable consumer law.
8. Maintenance visits and waste
Green-waste removal may be charged separately unless included in the agreed price. Working areas should be reasonably clear of pet fouling and other avoidable hazards. We may use suitable subcontractors where required.
9. Timing and weather
Dates and completion times are estimates. Weather, site conditions, supplier delays and events outside our reasonable control may require work to be postponed or rescheduled.
10. Liability
We will exercise reasonable skill and care. We are not responsible for loss caused by undisclosed hazards, defective existing structures or circumstances outside our reasonable control. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.
11. Photography
We may photograph completed work for our portfolio and marketing while taking reasonable steps to protect client privacy. Tell us if you do not want your garden photographed for these purposes.
12. Boundaries and existing features
The client is responsible for correctly identifying boundaries. JTGS is not responsible for pre-existing defects, instability or deterioration in structures, features or planting.
13. Complaints
Please raise concerns about completed work promptly, ideally within 7 days, so we can inspect the issue and, where appropriate, put it right.
14. Governing law
These terms and any accepted estimate are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
15. Acceptance
By accepting an estimate or quotation, or allowing JTGS to start the agreed work, the client confirms acceptance of the applicable terms and the agreed scope of work.
